WHY BOARD & TRAIN YOUR PUPPY?

Our Board and Train service is perfect if you don't have time to drop off and pick up your puppy to our place each day, and if you don't have time to train your puppy yourself.

We offer full board puppy training in Seattle for pet owners looking to train their puppies quickly and without stress.

WHAT YOUR PUPPY WILL LEARN IN TRAINING

Training a puppy takes patience and persistence due to their short attention span. By training them in 5-10 minute bursts a few times over the course of a day, we help them enjoy their training, and help them learn faster too. Our puppies learn the following as standard:

House Training

We will train your puppy to sleep through the night without accidents, and not to urinate in the house.

Crate Training

We will help your puppy view the crate as a safe place to be, and a space they can call their own.

Leash Training

Proper leash training is a very important part of being able to walk your dog safely and with confidence.

Socialization

We will help eliminate aggressive behavior towards other dogs, and help them become more confident

Your puppy will learn all the most important basic commands, including Sit, Down, Stay, Place, and Leave it!

If you choose the Advance Puppy Training package, we will also give your puppy further training, including recall, greeting manners, door manners, and will work to improve their confidence overall.

Benefits of taking your dog to obedience training

Managing a misbehaving dog can be a challenging task. Whether you have a well-behaved dog that requires some additional training in etiquette or a dog that frequently misbehaves and needs guidance, obedience training can be beneficial for various reasons. It is essential to provide your dog with obedience training to ensure they learn the necessary manners and behavior. 1. Closer bond with your dog Statistics shows that pet owners who have well-behaved pets experience higher levels of satisfaction and form stronger bonds with their animals. A dog that is well trained, obedient, content, relax, responsive, and easy to handle can provide a more enjoyable ownership experience, leading to a closer relationship between owner and pet. These findings suggest that proper training and management can enhance the overall quality of dog ownership. 2. Easy Management Obedience schools for dogs provide instruction on fundamental commands such as sit, drop, and stay, giving you the ability to manage your dog with greater ease. This improved management allows your dog to integrate more smoothly into family activities instead of being left at home or isolated from social gatherings due to their uncontrollable behavior. Basic obedience classes can teach valuable skills such as polite greetings, prompt response to recall, and safe and controlled leash walking. 3. Social, friendly dogs The process of socialization holds great significance in the life of a dog. It assists them in comprehending the manners and norms of dog language, and how they should respond to other dogs. It is a crucial life skill that helps them in getting along with their counterparts. Even if your dog is not frequently taken out for walks or events, it is still imperative for them to learn this skill. They may have to encounter other dogs during their routine activities such as veterinary appointments, walks, or boarding. 4. Pet ownership Pet ownership will be enjoyable and take less time, energy and resources. 5. Safety Having a well-trained dog that is under supervision is safer to have around family and friends, and is at a lower risk to himself than an uncontrollable dog . Nevertheless, it's important to keep in mind that animals can be unpredictable, and even a trained dog can act unexpectedly. Training your dog to respond to your calls and commands, especially in hazardous situations such as crossing the road, can significantly improve its well-being. 6. It takes time & effort, but it’s worth it. Although training can be time-consuming, it is initially required. You may have to wake up early on Sunday mornings to attend obedience school for approximately one year, besides daily at-home training. However, the advantages are exceptional and worth it. If your dog lives for 15 or 16 years, one year of training during their youth may seem insignificant. However, failing to train your dog appropriately can mean you have to deal with their challenging behaviour for a period of 15 to 16 years, which can be stressful for both you and your dog.

Choosing a trainer

Puppy training is an essential part of raising a well-behaved and happy pet. If you are located near Seattle and are in search of a reliable puppy training program, then there are a few things to keep in mind. Look for trainers who have experience working with puppies and use positive reinforcement methods to teach basic commands such as sit, stay, and come. It's also important to find a program that includes socialization activities to help your furry friend become comfortable around other dogs and people. With the right training program, your puppy will be on their way to becoming a well-mannered companion for years to come.

Training method we use

At Petcetera Dog, we believe in positive reinforcement to train your pup. We never use pain or force, but rather reward-based methods that encourage good behavior. We use treats, toys, and praise to motivate your pup and help them learn. Positive reinforcement helps to build trust and strengthen the bond between you and your pup. With patience and consistency, your pup will soon understand the behaviors you expect from them.
